Content Attribution Policy - HNA News | Crediting Sources & Ensuring Transparency

Content Attribution Policy

At HNA News, we believe in giving proper credit where it’s due. Accurate and transparent attribution is essential for journalistic integrity, trust, and respect toward original creators. This Content Attribution Policy explains how we credit sources, quote external material, and uphold ethical content standards.

1. Proper Source Citation

Whenever we use facts, quotes, research data, or media from external sources, we:

  • Clearly identify the source in the article

  • Provide a direct link (when available) to the original source

  • Mention the publication name and date (where relevant)

This applies to online articles, interviews, press releases, reports, and more.

2. Quoting and Referencing

When quoting a source:

  • We use quotation marks for direct quotes

  • We avoid altering the original meaning or context

  • We attribute the quote to its rightful owner (individual or organization)

For paraphrased information, we ensure clarity and acknowledgment of the original source.

3. Use of Creative Content

For third-party content such as:

  • Images

  • Videos

  • Infographics

  • Social media embeds

We ensure:

  • The content is used under a valid license (e.g., Creative Commons, fair use, or written permission)

  • Proper credit is given to the original creator/owner

  • A backlink is included where required or appropriate

Unauthorized use of third-party media is strictly prohibited.

4. Attribution of Guest Posts

If we publish guest posts or contributions:

  • The author’s name is clearly mentioned

  • Their bio or credentials may be included if provided

  • The post is reviewed to meet our editorial guidelines

5. Republishing Guidelines

Our original content may not be republished without permission. If you'd like to use our content:

  • You must request permission via 📧 hnanews.in@gmail.com

  • Full credit and a do-follow backlink to the original article are required

  • Only partial excerpts (not full articles) are allowed under fair use with attribution
